We, at Rotary Club of Rajkot
Midtown, have under taken the challenge of providing, the
children of Rajkot with population of 1 million, a library
of books and CDs.
This city has over 600 schools with only 12 schools having
their own libraries.
We are planning to set up a library exclusively for children
up to the age of 18 years. This is primarily aimed at less
privileged children of the society. We hope to have at least
10000 books and CDs related to all subjects like education,
self development, culture, history, geography, science, leisure
reading, travel etc. we shall also provide them with magazines
and periodicals. This library would fulfil a great need of
society. We will be conducting literacy workshops and courses
in varied subjects for the children.

very actively involved in activities related with children:

We have started an international
dolls museum with support of 460 rotary clubs of 260 rotary
districts with 1200 dolls. |

We also run a children creativity centre
where children are imparted with skills like painting,
sculpting, dancing, etc. . |

We also have a foreign language learning
facility where they can learn 32 languages. |

We actively support schools
based in slums areas of the city. |

We run a medical centre dedicated
to slum children and their families. We also give them
vocational help by teaching them computer skills and help
them get jobs. |

We give scholarships for education
to 100 children every year. |

We run two very active interact
clubs who help us in the activities in slum areas. |

Please donate books and CDs for this library. We also need
10 computers in this centre and donation for this is also
welcome.
Alternatively, you can send donation in cash from which we
would buy the books.
